On June 9th, the graduation ceremony of the 4th course of China-Africa Legal Professional Exchange Project was unveiled in the International Conference Hall of the Administration Building on the North Campus.
Present at the ceremony were ZHANG Mingqi, Vice President of China Law Society; LIANG Weifa, President of Guangdong Province Law Society; LIANG Debiao, Vice President of Guangdong Province Law Society; CHEN Ruiguang, Full-time Vice President of Guangdong Province Law Society; SUI Guangjun, Secretary of the CPC Committee of GDUFS and President of GDUFS, and Oloko Shakirudeen Adewale, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Guangzhou. The host was HU Chonghan, Dean of the School of Legal Studies.
ZHNG Mingqi
The course had rich content and was practical, ZHANG Mingqi stated. During the studies, members gained a better understanding of Constitution of China and China’s law system. The course brought friendship between legal professionals of China and Africa, enhanced the influence of China-Africa Legal Professionals Exchange Project and improved the possibility of overseas business between the two regions. It also boosted the establishment of China-Africa joint research centre and training centre. ZHANG paid appreciation to the members and expected actions taken to build a society better governed by law with the support of the Belt and Road Initiative.
LIANG Weifa
LIANG Weifa, on behalf of Guangdong Province Law Society, congratulated on the success the course has achieved. He pointed out that Guangdong Province occupies a vital position in the commercial activities between China and Africa, and that China is intensively encouraging the Belt and Road Initiative as well as promoting the cooperation among Asia, Europe and Africa. He emphasized that the course of China-Africa Legal Professionals Exchange Project was the implementation of the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation and an improvement of the legal environment of China and Africa.
Oloko Shakirudeen Adewale
Oloko Shakirudeen Adewale stated that since it has effectively encouraged the communication between legal professionals of China and Africa, the course should continue in the future. He praised the efforts GDUFS has made and hoped members of the course could participate in the future communication between the two regions and could become diplomatic law practitioners on the front line.
