On May 12th, an art show with the theme of "Love Among Ethnic Groups" was held in the small theater of art building on south campus to celebrate the foundation of GDUFS Ethnic Student Art Troupe. This show featuring varied ethnic styles aims to enrich students’ extracurricular life, upgrade their taste for art, promote ethnic cultures, appeal for high arts and to strengthen cross-ethnic communication. Mr. Anvar from Ideological Section Education Department of Guangdong province; LI Min, Guangdong Top Instructor from LI Min studio; Vice President LIU Haichun; XIE Yingdong, Head of Students’ Affair Office, SU Yi Secretary of Youth League Committee attended the show.
The Establishment of Ethnic Student Art Troupe
Before the beginning of the art show came the ceremony of the foundation of Ethnic Student Art Troupe. Liu Haichun delivered a flag on stage and announced the launch of the Ethnic Student Art Troupe. Anvar expressed his hope for this troupe to help the promotion and convergence of ethnic cultures. After giving a brief introduction of ethnic groups management in the university XIE Yingdong also hold expectations that the troupe would continue enhancing the quality of performance and create much more great novel shows; he hoped it could strengthen its team construction and ensured that members of the troupe would get on well with each other and finally play a part in the merging of ethnic cultures.

Fascinating Shows from Multiple Ethnic Groups
Tonight’s show proved the great devotion of members of the Art Troupe. The first performance was Swordmen’s dance presented by Uighur students. The Uighur young men were beating out the tune joyously with small drums while the Uighur ladies were whirling and dancing at the back, sometimes graceful sometimes vigorous. The inspiring dance successfully promoted an atmosphere. Later on, An Uighur song A Cup of Good Wine also intoxicated all the audience.

The song Yells of Xinjiang with a strong Xinjiang feature gave the audience a fresh experience. “He who fails to reach Xinjiang has a real pity!” The young men from Xinjiang cried out cheerfully in manly voices. They vigorously yelled out their hometown songs, which not only conveyed rich local characteristics, showcased abundant resources of the region, but also express the pride and hospitality of Xinjiang people.

Performance Dance on Horsebacks from Kazakhstan brought us another brand new visual enjoyment. The sight of dancers in unique Kazakhstan costumes struck the audience with a lively image of running horses, which are indispensable companions and transportation tools for Kazakhstan people. This dance with a strong rhythm and a vigorous tune helped visualize the picture of myriad horses galloping across a prairie.

The Origin of Dai
After the dance of Love My China, the show came to an end. The performers in various ethnic costumes exhibited different cultures of ethnic groups, all of which had a great love of the country. Some hospitable ethnic students walked down the stage and presented special Xinjiang Snacks to the audience.
Lasting Friendship Among Ethnic Groups
After the show, LIU Haichun spoke highly of this performance and expressed his sincere thanks for the devotion of ethnic students. He said: “This is a fantastic show. It has always been a pleasure that ethnic students can be seen in varied artistic activities on campus. The university is very concerned about ethnic students and we’d like to celebrate every important festival with all of you. I hope everyone can a make joint effort to promote the communication and converging of ethnic cultures.”
The head of the Ethnic Student Art Troupe said she was happy and she extended a gratitude to the school for setting up the art troupe and giving ethnic students opportunities to showcase their talents. She pointed out that in the past ethnic students only appeared on stage in separate small groups, and not everyone had the opportunity to perform, but it was never the case from then on.
