Concert of Class-2012 Excellent Graduates

On the evening of May 9th, the 8th Concert of Excellent Graduates, Chunhua(春华，springtime), was held by the Faculty of Arts in the small theater on the South Campus. Among the attendees were Vice President FANG FanQuan;Minister of Organization Department, FANG YingSheng;Chief of Educational Administration, YUAN ChangChun, and Party Secretary of the Faculty of Arts, ZHU Zhenting.

Renditions Infused with Four Years’ Dedication

The concert impressed its audience with marvelous items in varying forms. On top of the solo ensemble, there wereduets, choral and solo piano performances. Graduates with talents performed their best on the stage: DENG Ran, ZHONG Ming and ZHANG YuQing, one after another, completed the gripping interpretation of foreign Arias of Oh! My Fernando! , We Are the SameandI Heard Beautiful Singing, which werethe representatives of mezzo-soprano, baritone and soprano respectively. With proficient singing skills, the three students successfully accomplished the perfect portraits of the personalities and emotions of the characters, and thus deeply strucka chord with the audience, despite the songs’ great difficulty.

Other riveting pieces were performed by FAN JianSong, LIU LiuQing, LEI DongQI, WANG XiaoKun and OU JiaJun in succession. The renditions fully represented the graduates’ 4-years fruitful academic performances, but more importantly, they showed their immense gratitude in the meantime, which tremendously moved the audience.

Fantastic and Intoxicating

The Chinese trio Road under the Sun, rendered by LIU LiuQing, WANG XiaoKun and ZHANG YuQing, undoubtedly glued the audience to their seats and successfully brought the concert into the first climax. Besides, the duet Reed, performed by FAN JianSong and LEI DongQi, created a poetic atmosphere and with its beautiful melody, left its audience intoxicated.

Two piano solos performed by YU AnNi brought the audience into another world instantly. The famous duet La Ci Darem Da Mano was sung by DENG Ran and ZHONG Ming, the cooperation of whom pushed the concert to another climax.

A Reluctant Closing

At the end, all the excellent students, in tears, culminated the concert with the classic piece You Raise Me Up in acknowledgement of the teachers and others who had spared no efforts to push them forward.

The concert also invited other honorable guests, including PI Xiaocai from Xinghai Conservatory of Music; ZHENG Yanwen and LI Mequn from South China Agricultural University;WU Guoling from South China University of Technology, TIAN Ding and YAO Younan from the Faculty of Arts of Guangzhou University
