GDUFS Hires Four New Yunshan Scholars

On September 16^th, the Yunshan Scholars Hiring Ceremony was held in the guesthouse at the north campus. President ZHONG Weihe presented a certificate to four professors: Yunshan Lecturer-NIE Zhenzhao; Professor ZHOU Qichao; Professor HUO Qiang, and Yunshan Youth Scholar-Doctor WANG Lei. Until now, GDUFS has hired 62 Yunshan Scholars in total, 52 of which are now in their duration.

Vice President YANG Aimin, head of the human resource division of GDUFS; head of the Academic Research Division, CHEN Yanhui; Dean of the Faculty of English Language and Culture, WEN Binli; Director of the Foreign Language Center, ZHANG Jin; CPC secretary of the School of Ideological and Political Sciences, LU Haiqing; and Vice Dean of the School of Finance, ZHAN Kai attended the ceremony. President ZHONG showed his respect and gratitude to four new scholars in the ceremony. He gave a briefly introduction to GDUFS and the Yunshan Scholar Job Plan. He depicted Yunshan scholars as the SWAT Team among the elite, which played an important role in many ways, such as: discipline construction, talent cultivation and scientific research. He indicated that the new-comers of this elite team will bring updated researching methods and approaches, as well as promote the development of the research team. He hoped to make every effort with all the scholars to give GDUFS a better future.

Professor NIE Zhenzhao emphasized the necessity of bringing in the talents and highly appreciated the outcome of the Yunshan Scholar Job Plan. He intended to gather a professional team in FELC and combine it with the present team, together making significant contributions to GDUFS.

ZHOU Qichao donated some of his works to GDUFS, including Foreign Literature and Comparative Poetics (ZHOU Qichao as the editor-in-chief) and some translation works. He clarified his plan of making multifaceted and profound academic communications.

Professor GUO Qiang expressed his gratitude to the relevant departments in GDUFS for their considerate service, and committed that he will try his best to build an internationalized team researching in the ideological and political science fields, sharing useful Chinese experiences, and expanding the Chinese culture. He donated some works to GDUFS including Series of Social Root Theory.

Doctor WANG Lei expressed his gratitude to GDUFS for its help and providing such a good platform for research. He pledged to try his best and cooperate with his colleagues to promote the development of Finance at GDUFS.

Attachment (Brief Introduction of 4 Yunshan Scholars):

Professor NIE Zhenzhao holds the position of Professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Literature in Central China Normal University, Chief Editor of the famous academic journals Studies of Foreign Literature and World Literature Study Forum. He is also Vice-chairman of the China Society of Foreign Literature and expert to assess the national social science found. In addition, he founded the Study Association of Criticism of International Literary Ethics as well as the Poetic Association of Poetry in China and the U.S, which have had a significant international influence.

Professor ZHOU Qichao was the first D.A of Russian after new China, which is now Chairman of Research Center of Literary Theory at the Chinese Academy of Social Science and Vice Director of the Study Society of Chinese and Foreign Literary Theory and Chairman of Bakhtin Seminar. He also receives the special allowance from the State Council.

Professor WANG Qiang holds the position of Director of Liberal Arts Office (Social Science Department) at Tongji University, Head of the Institute of Scientific Development in Tongji University, as well as Deputy Director of Shanghai Innovative Research Base of Social Science, Practice Base of Research of DENG Xiaoping and Well-off Society Construction. He created Social Root Theory and developed his own schools of explaining and illustrating modern society.

Doctor Wang Lei received his PhD in Economics from the Institute of Finance and Economics of Renmin University of China. At present, he is the PhD candidate of Economic Research Institute of Australian National University.
