Delegation from the Xinhua News Agency Visits GDUFS to Learn of Achievements of the Belt and the Road Project

On the 13th of April, ZHAO Donghui, Vice President of the Xinhua News Agency Guangdong Branch and CHE Xiaohui, Vice Editor of the Xinhua News Agency paid a visit to GDUFS to learn details of the Belt and the Road project. SUI Guangjun, Executive Vice President of the Guangdong International Strategic Research Institute welcomed the visitors and talked with them on the topic.

The propose of the Belt and the Road project caters to the needs of the countries along the route. It helps these countries via mutual benefits and development and a through a new platform for international cooperation. Guangdong has to depend on the Maritime Silk Road to realize further economic development and globalization. It is said that the Guangdong International Strategic Research Institute, in a combined effort with the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has deeply investigated the possibilities of further development in Southeast Asia and is seen to gradually stretch to African areas in the future. SUI introduced the relative situation of the investigation and results of the research done for the Maritime Silk Road project to the guests.

GDUFS boasts its foreign trade and economic “going-out” efforts and especially to support the success of Guangdong enterprises going-out programs. Previously the Xinhua News Agency has reported on the export growth of the countries along the Maritime Silk Road and this time they hope to do an in-depth investigation on the next 3 specific parts of the project: (1) The Guangdong Enterprises` Going-Out; (2) The Infrastructure Construction of Foreign Factories and (3) Development of the Port.

HU Wentao, the Party Committee Propaganda Department Minister and LIU Jisen, Deputy Secretary General of the International Strategy Research Institute accompanied members of the Xinhua Agency during this visit and research mission.
