GDUFS' Freshmen at the 2013 Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony for undergraduates of Class 2013 was held in GDUFS on Sep.9^th, 2013. Over five thousand freshmen attended the " First Lesson" with their school badges on.

Sui Guangjun, CPC Secretary of GDUFS gave a warm welcome to all the freshmen.He marked that culture, spirit, virtues and ethos passed down from generation to generation were the most precious treasure of GDUFS.  Freshmen of Class 2013 would be witnesses, participants and beneficiaries of GDUFS becoming a high-level university with distinct international features and. He  hoped that students could improve their ability, be honest and keep pursuing.

President Zhong Weihe hoped that GDUFS' freshmen could stick to their dreams. He encourged all the students by saying that " you are the gold of GDUFS and it's our university's responsibility to provide you with the opportunities to glitter." He was proud of GDUFS, not because of the number of elites, but the potential of every student to become an exellent person.

Tang Xiaojiao, delegate of the alumnus shared her college life with all the freshmen. She advised that two things must be done in the university--first, make a life plan and then be earnest towards everything you decide to do.

During the opening ceremony, leaders of GDUFS issued school badges as well as student handbooks to student representatives. It was the first time for GDUFS to send school badges to students at the opening ceremony and it served as a striking feature in this ceremony.

After the opening ceremony, a student from Faculty of European Languages and Cultures said that the " First Lession" was quite significant and she got the enlightment from all the speeches. Another freshman from Faculty of English Language and Culture agreed that the "First Lession" marked a good beginning of the new life in GDUFS.
