Good News: Students from GDUFS Won the National First Prize in National Mathematical Modeling Contest

Mar 25th--According to the news from the Committee of "Higher Education Press Cup" National Mathematical Modeling Contest, a team from GDUFS stood out above the rest 20 thousands teams from more than 1200 universities in Singapore, the U.S and Hong Kong SAR, winning the national first prize. The team is consisted of Li Jieyong, Li Weipeng, students from School of Information, Zhang Liying, student from School of Management and professor Zhang Zhenhua. Up till now, 10 teams from GDUFS have won 1 national first prize, 3 provincial first prizes, 2 second prizes and 3 third prizes in this session, the best result since GDUFS took part in the contest.
The National Mathematical Modeling Contest is a scientific competition co-hosted by Division of Higher Education of National Education Committee and CSIAM, one of the largest and the most influential extracurricular activities for university students all around China. It has been 5 years since GDUFS took part in the competition. With support from the university leaders, we have achieved increasingly better result. It is said that the 2013 "Higher Education Press Cup" National Mathematical Modeling Contest will be held in September,2013.
