Turkey Guests Visited GDUFS and Discussed Cooperation Projects

Feb 27th-- Serdar Kalaycı, Mayor of Meram, along with representatives from three Turkish universities visited GDUFS on the afternoon of February 27th.. Vice President Fang Fanquan accompanied by the Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange Jiao Fangtai offered a gracious welcome to the guests and had a discussion on bilateral cooperation projects. The Dean of the Faculty of Asian Languages and Culture Chen Duoyou and the Dean of the Institute of Education for International Students Liang Xuehong also attended.
At the Meeting
The meeting began with a brief introduction given by three of our visiting guests: Mr. Muzaffer ŞEKER, Rector of Necmettin Erbakan University, Mr. M. Musa 諾CAN, Vice Rector of Sel鐄k University, and Mr. S黮eyman 諾EN, Vice Rector of Mevlana University. The meeting relvolved around three main topics, namely, the history of the University, the population of students, and GDUFS' international cooperation with other universities.

Mr. Chen Yanhui introduced the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture at the meeting and he talked in detail about the Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (TCSOL) major. He also suggested that GDUFS is willing to help with the establishment of a Chinese Language and Culture Institute in Turkish Universities and welcomes students from Turkey to GDUFS for language study.
Also in the News --- President Zhong Weihe met with the Turkish representatives and discussed affairs concerning bilateral cooperation.

President Zhong stated that, as a university featuring international studies, GDUFS has already set up cooperation projects with over 230 foreign universities. He said the GDUFS is looking forward to more cooperative opportunities with universities in Turkey in terms of establishing Chinese Language Schools, student exchange and linguistic research, which are not only beneficial to the universities involved, but also to the development of two regions. Mr. Serdar Kalaycı extended his gratitude for the gracious welcome he received and looks forward to furthering the cooperation project.
