Delegates of the Catholic University of Saint Mary Visited GDUFS for Further Collaboration

Dec.24th -Vice-President Gaspar and delegates from the Catholic University of Saint Mary in Peru paid a visit to GDUFS on the afternoon of December 12th. President Zhong Weihe gave a warm welcome to the guests on the north campus and had a discussion with them about the desire for further collaboration between the two universities through the development of the Confucius Institute to secure a sustainable partnership. 

 

President Zhong mentioned that GDUFS has offered courses in Spanish since 1965. Now, GDUFS has nearly 1800 students from over 90 different countries and districts. He shared his hope that the two universities will have a better understanding of each other so as to pave the way for future cooperation in extended areas.

As for Vice-President Gaspar, he expressed his gratitude to GDUFS for its long-term support of the Confucius Institute. Besides, he indicated that the education offered at the Confucius Institute has done well in spreading Chinese culture, which has promoted communication between Chinese and Peruvian cultures.

It was said that this was the Catholic University of Saint Mary's first visit to GDUFS. Recently, the Chinese President and some teachers have started their work in Peru and what's more, GDUFS is going to send another six volunteer students to assist them.
