Sui Guangjun Met Professor Chintamani Mahapatra from Jawaharlal Nehru University

Dec. 18th-Mr. Sui Guangjun, Secretary of Party Committee of GDUFS and Executive Vice President of Guangdong Institute of International Strategic Studies, met Professor Chintamani Mahapatra from Jawaharlal Nehru University in the Administration Building on December 1st. Accompanying Secretary Sui were Jiao Fangtai, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department; Li Qing, General Secretary of the Guangdong Institute of International Strategic Studies; Cai Hong, Deputy Secretary-General of the Guangdong Institute of International Strategic Studies; and Wu Junfeng, Deputy Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department. During the meeting, Secretary Sui exchanged views with Professor Chintamani on the communication and cooperation of the two schools.

At the meeting, Secretary Sui introduced the structure GDUFS to Professor Chintamani in terms of its teaching mode, settings of majors, and  so on. Sui said that GDUFS focuses on both the high quality of the school`s all-round construction and the good combination of research and services for regional economic development. He then mentioned that as an essential think tank in realms of International Relations, Economies and Commerce, Guangdong Institute of International Strategic Studies had held not only symposiums supported by the government, but also international forums like China (Guangdong)-ASEAN Strategic Cooperation Forum. Sui also saw the India Research Center as an opportunity to invite Professor Chintamani to join in the center to build up close academic relations with each other. All-in-all, Secretary Sui welcomed Professor Chintamani to GDUFS.

 

Professor Chintamani gave an introduction of Jawaharlal Nehru University, specifically the Faculty of International Relations. He stated that as the inevitable globalized cooperation has been effective for the development of economies, the lack of information and communication will cause problems. Therefore, China and India should maintain close contact in order to break through the impediments along the way. The professor also suggested that Jawaharlal Nehru University develop closer contact with Guangdong Institute of International Strategic Studies and GDUFS and he himself would devote his efforts in the cooperation with the Institute and GDUFS, for which Scretary Sui expressed sincere appreciation..
