GDUFS Won the Champion of the 3rd SFLEP National Foreign Language Teaching Contest in Guangdong Division

Nov. 5^th -- The finals for the 3rd SFLEP National Foreign Language Teaching Contest (Guangdong division) was held on October 27th at GDUFS' north campus. It was sponsored by the Education Department of Guangdong Province. As expected, Gu Yukui, a teacher of GDUFS' faculty of Language and Linguistics, took the top spot in the finals.

Liu Wenping, Associate Fellow from the Provincial Education Department, attended the contest along with the Vice Chairman of SFLEP Huang Wei, GDUFS Vice President Liu Jianda and other campus and community leaders. Liu pointed out in his address that the contest provided a stage for excellent English teachers to fully display their talents.

In his presentation, contestant No.1 Gu Yukui outdid himself by putting forward a teaching idea of ''learning by participation'' and showing his ingenious teaching method of ''CAP''. ''CAP'' refers to content, activity and purpose, all of which are centered on students.

Liu noted that this contest not only improves teachers' professional skills but quickens the maturity and perfection of teaching methods; not just the promotion of sharing advanced teaching philosophies but it also nurtures talent.
