Teachers and Students Spent the Summer Holiday studying in Poland

This summer holiday, after an invitation from the Polish Ministry of Education, 12 students majoring in Polish took free courses for four weeks in Poland. Besides, MAO Yinhui, Director of the Institute of Polish Language, and teacher ZHANG Hexuan studied a training course of pedagogy at Jagiellonian University. In the meantime, YANG Ke, Dean of the Faculty of European Languages and Cultures, signed an agreement regarding student exchange with Jagiellonian University.

Three of the students studied at Jagiellonian University, four of them at the University of Warsaw and the rest at Pultusk Academy of Humanities. The teacher training course, on the subject of pedagogy, was taught by the authorities from Polish Language as a Foreign Language, which covered several broad aspects. MAO Yinhui was invited, as a representative of GDUFS, to attend the opening ceremony of the summer courses at Pultusk Academy of Humanities.

The presence of Chinese teachers and students stirred the interest of local media, and they were interviewed by well-known media organisations. On TVP polonia, MAO Yinhui talked about the present situation of the Polish language at GDUFS, as well as its promising future prospects. Headlined ‘Even Chinese start to learn Polish’, the news was broadcast at primetime and had good ratings. Two students had a follow-up interview with Radio Eska.S.A.

 

On 10th July, Wojciech Nowak, President of Jagiellonian University, amicably received YANG Ke and MAO Yinhui, and witnessed the signing of the agreement on student exchange.

 

Before signing the agreement, YANG Ke gave a brief introduction of GDUFS, highlighting the Polish language major. President Nowak showed interest in other subjects of our university and looked forward to further cooperation.
