November 6 - Two GDUFS students participated in the Shandong Gold Cup national team competition held from October 20th to the 24th and won two gold medals for the Guangdong team.

Zhang Yuyang, from the School of Politics and Public Administration at GDUFS, and Li Jiayun, a student in the Faculty of English Language and Culture, returned with gold. In the final round, Zhang Yuyang, who shot 73 strokes which was the overall best play of a single round, helped the Guangdong Team win the group championship. While Zhang Lijia, captain of the national team, achieved 299 strokes in total, undoubtedly clinching the title of individual champion.

The event, held at the Shandong Gold Rock River Golf Club in Jinan , welcomed 20 men's and 17 women's teams from 20 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities. It is the first official golf competition sanctioned by the China State General Administration of Sport since the International Olympic Committee made the game a medal event at the 2016 and 2020 Games. This competition was regarded as part of the preparation before golf officially makes its debut at the next Olympic Games.
