Hans d’Orville Was Awarded the Title of “Honorary Professor”

On the afternoon of November 5th, a title awarded ceremony was held in the VIP hall of the Administration Building on the north campus. Those who attended the ceremony included ZHONG Weihe, President of GDUFS; Hans d’Orville, Assistant Director-General for Strategic Planning of UNESCO; FANG Fanquan, Vice President of GDUFS; CAI Hong, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and Xie Wenxin, Director of the Human Resource Division.

Opening the ceremony, President ZHONG Weihe extended a warm welcome to Hans d’Orville and gave a brief introduction of GDUFS, including the history of university, the development of academic subjects, personnel cultivating program, as well as the achievements we have gained since the establishment of GDUFS.

Then Mr. Hans expressed his sincere gratitude for GDUFS’s support to his work, and congratulated GDUFS on its 50th anniversary.

Later, President ZHONG awarded the title of “Honorary Professor” to Mr. Hans and presented some gifts to him. Mr. Hans, owing to his deep research in urbanization and sustainable development, presented the two books: “Unity in Diversity” and “Creative Design of Sustainable Development” to our school in return, wishing our university a better future.
