On September 3rd, the grand military parade for the 70th anniversary of the end of Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the Global War Against Fascism was celebrated at Tiananmen Square to engrave the history and cherish the memory of our revolutionary martyrs, The event is to help people cherish peace and initiate a bright future. Too, a symposium named as Discussing the History of Resistance against Japanese Aggression to Realize the Dream of Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation was held at the Second Conference Room in GDUFS. At the symposium, two heroes, YANG Qun and LIN Tao, and old comrades from the Working Committee for Caring about Next Generations, were invited to share their experience of resistance against Japanese aggression to the present teachers and students. Others who attended the symposium were SUI Guangjun, Party Secretary of GDUFS, LIU Haichun, Vice-Presient, leaders from the Publicity Department of the School Party, the Students Department, the School League Committee, the Employment Guidance Center and the Management Office of the Retirees and some student representatives. The symposium was hosted by SU Yi, Deputy Secretary of the School League Committee.
Party Secretary SUI awarded the Memorial Medal of Resistance against Japanese Aggression to heroes
Early in the ceremony SUI awarded the Memorial Medal of Resistance against Japanese Aggression to the Heroes. As the representative of heroes, YANG expressed their gratitude to leaders of the Party Central Committee and people who presented here. While LIN shared his experience of resistance against Japanese agression, “It’s my great honor to attend this symposium. I was born in a family experiencing several revolutions. My grandfather was a member of the China Alliance Committee, which launched the Revolution of 1911, and my father had participated in the Wuchang Uprising, both of which were sources of rich spiritual wealth for me. With the outbreak of resistance against Japanese aggression, many of my famiy joined in the Communist Party, devoting their life to resistance against the imperialist aggression. Therefore, I felt that, I too, must resist against the Japanese imperialist, because I’m the son of the Communist Party. I must carry out the mission of the Party, or our land would be lost.” In the end, he expressed his hope that “I hope everybody could inherit the spirit of resistance against Japanese aggression and devote to your own work, making contributions to the construction of socialist well-off society.”
Heroes recollected their experience of resistance against Japanese aggression
Two old comrades from the Working Committee for Caring about Next Generations also shared their experience in war times. FENG Yiqian expressed his idea about how to combine the spirit of loving our country and loving our school, while ZHUANG Mingying shared his experiences of resistance against Japanese aggression in the Chaozhou and Shantou area, “At this Victory Day, I hope that everybody could bear in mind the history, maintain sharp vigilance against the revival of right-wing forces in Japan and cherish the hard-earned peace.”

Afterwards, LI Sheng, Secretary of Youth League Committee of School of Business, elaborated his understanding of Resistance against Japanese Aggression through PPT. As the student representative, ZOU Chunwei, President of Student Union of GDUFS, referred to the importance of showing gratitude to those national heroes. On behalf of the postgraduates, XIE Xiaoqin, a graduate student from Faculty of English Language and Culture, described her perception from learning the spirit of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, and had a wish that students could better realize the patriotism.
LIU Haichun concludes the symposium
The symposium was concluded by Vice-President LIU Haichun. As he said, the communication fully revealed such words: recalling, remembering and taking responsibilities. He hoped that all the students could inherit the spirit and pinpoint their own responsibilities, striving to be educated youth in the new era.
