Mikhail presented in the inauguration and delivered his opening speech, pointing out that this year was the 70th anniversary of victory in world’s anti-fascism war, as well as China’s anti-Japanese war and Russia’s Great Patriotic War. As the main battlefield in Asia and Europe, China and Russia have relatively made enormous contributions to the victory. Leaders of both countries have agreed to show up in the celebrations involved held by each other. This photographic exhibition was one of them. During the opening ceremony, on behalf of President Putin, Mikhail presented a memorial medal to LU Lianfan, a veteran who had fought in Soviet Far East battlefield.

The exhibition was divided into two parts: “The Great 70th Anniversary of Victory in 1945” and “History of Common Victory in Manchuria”, with around 100 historic pictures displayed. Those precious pictures have reproduced vividly the historical scenes of World War Two, such as parade on Red Square in 1941, battle against Germany in Europe and Japan in Manzhouli, formal surrender in Tokyo Bay and so on, which reminded people more of the history.
