On February 17 I was so excited I couldn't fall asleep again after waking up at 4:20 a.m. From that hour on, I stayed awake, imagining how wonderful my day would be, for I was going to take a one-day trip with my sister to Hong Kong!
Hong Kong, known as The Oriental Pearl, is located in the south of China and is next to Shenzhen. Thus there are a great of number of visitors from Guangdong Province crowding into Hong Kong every year.It seems that Hong Kong is the best destination for Cantonese travelers. It is a metropolitan area however, it is not big in size. If you are busy, you can take a one or two day trip and visit all the main spots of Hong Kong. You can not only appreciate the splendid views, but also enjoy shopping in Hong Kong.
I got up at six o'clock and got ready quickly, taking my backpack and stepping out towards Hong Kong. Here are the main attractions I visited.
Sik Sik Yuen, Wong Tai Sin Temple
If you have a long-standing wish that's yet to come true, perhaps the place to visit is the Sik Sik Yuen,Wong Tai Sin Temple where, provided you make an earnest plea to the gods,"every wish can come true"- or so it is said. Hearing the saying I first got to Wong Tai Sin Temple and knelt down to pray for good luck on this tour.
The temple features beautifully ornamented traditional buildings and ancient character sculptures. It commemorates the famous monk of yore Wong Tai Sin,who was born around AD 328 and became a deity in his later life.If you are faithful enough, you can pray and draw the divination sticks and get your stick to ask the soothsayer.By the way,I got a lucky stick and my sister got a bad one.

Mong Kok
Hong Kong is the perfect place to pick up a unique bargain or indulge in an unexpected extravagance, if you know exactly where to look.Mong Kok may be the best place for you to enjoy both of them. And there are a lot of special streets with odd names, such as Lady's Street,Sneakers Street,Sai Yee Street and others.I went to Langham Place which is a skyscraper and landmark of Mong Kok. With all kinds of goods,it features the terrific Xpresscalators extended from 4th to 8th floor and 8th to 12th floor. When hungry and thirsty,it is also convenient for you to find a restaurant or cafe.As for me,I rested at Hui Lau Shan and tasted the delicious local dessert.

The Peak
Going to The Peak is one of the must-dos if you come to Hong Kong.Standing on the highest point of Hong Kong you will be amazed by the spectacular view of surrounding city skyline, the world famous Victoria Harbour and Kowloon, towering skyscrapers and peaceful green hillsides.
It is an unforgettable trip for me.I got there in the day and there are still many people.(a lot more in the early evening)So I waited in the line, listening visitors from all around the world talking and chatting with my sister. Then came the Peak Tram.It is pulled by steel cable and climbs the steep hill.It is so steep that the building we passed looked like they were leaning at a 45 degree angle! We reached our destination.Markets and cafe are everywhere, but we walked straight to the peak by elevator. Striking scenery came to sight! We could see the whole city on View Terrace, the wind breezing and the sun shining, how beautiful it is!

Victoria Habour
At the sight of Victoria Habour,I've fell in love with this city. When the night falls, all the buildings begin to be lit up and spark like stars.Taking the Star Ferries from Central to Tsim Sha Tsui, you can feel the unique charms of the urban landscape.Cool wind containing the smell of sea makes you comfortable. We landed at Tsim Sha Tsui, where A Symphony Of Lights is on every night. It starts at 20:00 and lasted about half an hour. Named as the 'World's Largest Permanent Light and Sound Show' by Guinness World Records, coloured lights, laser beams and searchlights perform in an unforgettable all-round spectacle synchronised to music and narration that celebrates the energy, spirit and diversity of Hong Kong. That night we listen to the show's music and English narration, taking photos to keep it in our memory.

Avenue of Stars
The Avenue of Stars pays tribute to the names that helped make Hong Kong the "Hollywood of the East". With commemorative plaques, celebrity handprints, descriptive milestones, movie memorabilia, a life-size statue of kung fu action hero Bruce Lee and a bronze rendering of popular cartoon character McDull, the Avenue of Stars fittingly sets the glamour of Hong Kong's film industry against the captivating dazzle of Victoria Harbour. We walked along the avenue and recognized each of the celebrity's name and took lots of pictures.
