A Reunion with My Best Friend

Time:February 16, 2013  Author:  Editor:  Source:   Photo:

If winter comes, can winter holiday be far behind? If winter holiday comes, can winter plans be far behind? Thus, as the winter holiday finally arrives, immediately, I start to embark on my winter plans - a short jaunt that I have pictured in my mind many times. The targeted place is Wuhan, where my best friend is working as an elementary-school teacher. I always believe that no matter how many times you visit a city where you have no friends, it is strange to you forever. Thus, Wuhan, the city where my best friend lives, has become a tender and warm place to me. I cannot wait to meet this city and see my best friend. So let's go!

The moment I sped out of the station, a face I could not be more familiar with jumped into my view. Looking at the girl in front of me, tears began to well up in my eyes. This is the person with whom I spent my four undergraduate years at GDUFS, a time where we experienced numerous deep talks, ate delicious hot pot, climbed beautiful mountains, and studied diligently together. A kindred friend is hard to find. I must be the luckiest girl in the world to have one.

My best friend & I at Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge

During my short stay, my friend took me to cross the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge. The 1670 meter-long bridge was completed in 1957. Characterized by its unique upper and lower double levels, the upper level for automobiles and the lower level for trains, the dream to walk across this bridge is one we all share. I am very blessed to have walked across the well-known Yangtze River Bridge, but the real blessing is that I had my best friend there to walk with me!
