Unlike previous ceremonies, graduating students had to use their student cards to enter the Council House. This might be the last time the students get to use their cards.

As his last present to the GDUFS graduates, President Zhong Weihe gave a speech entitled "Four years experience at GDUFS, a Lifetime Attachment." He said, "Chinese have a saying that the mother will pray for her children who are away from her. You are all children of GDUFS. We are concerned about whether you are mature enough to enter society; we are concerned about whether you are ready for a tough boss; we are concerned about whether you are always chasing your dreams." These were a few of the "Eight Consecutive Concerns" that warmly expressed President Zhong Weihe's care and expectation of the graduates.

Solemn, yet passionate and humorous, President Zhong Weihe's speech evoked several rounds of cheers from the graduates. He ended his speech with the remark, "Through the years, whether you come back or not, your alma mater will always be here in full support of you. Whether you visit your professors or not, we will always miss you, and we have full confidence in you."

Following the speech, Kang Fengli, Teacher Representative, gave suggestions on how to live and how to learn. She hopes students will be honest and grateful at all times. Now the whole world belongs to you, and also the future."  Finally, the Student Representative Bai Jinjing expressed her appreciation to the alma mater by saying, "In the past four years, we've grown out of the immaturity, and we've learned to pursue our dreams."
