On the morning of November 10, Professor Chartchalerm Isarankura-Na-Ayudhya, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies of Mahidol University, Thailand, led a delegation to visit Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS). Shen Minghao, Vice President of GDUFS, met with the guests in the VIP Hall of the Administration Building of the Baiyun Mountain Campus. The two sides held in-depth discussions on postgraduate joint training, faculty and student exchanges, and scientific research cooperation.

Highlight from the Meeting
Vice President Shen extended a warm welcome to Professor Isarankura-Na-Ayudhya and his delegation, and introduced GDUFS’s distinctive features of internationalized education and disciplinary strengths. He noted that China and Thailand have close ties in economic and trade investment as well as people-to-people exchanges. Located in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, GDUFS attaches great importance to cooperation with Thai universities. GDUFS has achieved remarkable results in international collaboration, ranking 90th worldwide for international collaboration, with its Humanities and Arts disciplines ranking 165th globally and 6th nationwide in the U.S. News Best Global Universities Rankings. Currently, a total of 128 international students from Thailand are studying at GDUFS. He expressed his hope to continuously deepen the relationship with Mahidol University and strengthen cooperation between the two universities in areas such as student exchange, faculty visits, and scientific research collaboration.
Professor Isarankura-Na-Ayudhya expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and highly commended GDUFS for its achievements in discipline development and internationalization. He highlighted that Mahidol University, as one of the oldest institutions of higher education in Thailand, has long been ranked among the top universities in Thailand, with multiple disciplines entering the global top 100. Looking ahead, he expressed hope that this visit would serve as a new starting point for cooperation between the two universities, further promoting cooperation in areas such as student exchange, faculty visits, and research collaboration.
