On the afternoon of January 6, Consul General of India in Guangzhou, Mr. Shambhu L. Hakki, and his delegation visited Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS). President Yan Xiangbin received the guests at the VIP Hall of the Administration Building at the Baiyun Mountain Campus. The two sides exchanged views on educational cooperation and cultural exchange.

Committed to nurturing globally competent talents, GDUFS holds significant potential in advancing Sino-Indian economic and trade cooperation. Since its establishment in 2011, the Hindi program has distinguished itself through rigorous academic development and has been recognized as a national first-class undergraduate program. It has excelled in talent cultivation, teaching innovation, academic advancement, and international collaboration. GDUFS has established strong partnerships with multiple Indian universities and institutions and looks forward to expanding cooperation in talent development, cultural exchange, and scientific research, further contributing to the bilateral relationship.
Mr. Hakki highly praised GDUFS’s remarkable achievements in foreign language education, particularly recognizing the university’s contributions to Hindi studies. He pledged full support for fostering partnerships between GDUFS and Indian universities and promoting Hindi language education. He also expressed a strong willingness to collaborate with GDUFS in organizing relevant academic and cultural events to deepen educational cooperation between China and India. Such initiatives, he noted, would further strengthen the foundation for bilateral economic collaboration, cultural exchange, and overall relations.
