Vice President Jiao Fangtai provided a comprehensive overview of GDUFS’s history and international development, emphasizing that the university has established partnerships with 506 higher education institutions across 66 countries and regions, including 25 institutions in France. As the university in South China offering the most foreign languages, GDUFS provides 33 languages, with French recognized as a top-tier national undergraduate program. This meeting not only strengthened the mutual understanding between the two universities but also laid a solid foundation for deeper future collaboration. Furthermore, Vice President Jiao introduced GDUFS’s PRIME Program for international exchange and cooperation, with the hope that both universities will elevate their collaboration in faculty and student exchanges, as well as research partnerships, fostering a mutually beneficial and prosperous future.
Highlight from the Meeting
Vice President Manuel Robert noted that the two universities share many common strengths in the fields of Asian language education, economics, trade, and law. He expressed particular hope that both universities would collaborate to promote the teaching and research of the three Asian languages—Chinese, Japanese, and Korean—as well as their respective areas of academic excellence. He emphasized that through this visit, both sides aim to further advance practical cooperation, including student exchanges, and foster cultural exchange and mutual learning. He believes that, as China and France celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the increasing exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in education, culture, and other fields will inject new vitality into the continued development of Sino-French relations. He is confident that the partnership between GDUFS and Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University will contribute to this dynamic process.
