On November 18, Vice-Rector César Cáceres Zarate and other members of their delegation visited Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS). Vice President Jiao Fangtai welcomed the guests at the VIP Hall on the Baiyun Mountain Campus. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on international Chinese education, undergraduate program exchanges and cooperation, talent cultivation.
Highlights from the Meeting
Vice President Jiao warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced recent developments at GDUFS. He highlighted the university’s strong international profile, noting its significant role as an important base in South China for international talent cultivation and studies of foreign languages and cultures, global economic governance, foreign-related rule of law, and international communication of Chinese culture. GDUFS has achieved remarkable results in both academic research and international talent nurturing.
Vice-Rector Cáceres Zarate expressed hopes that both universities would take advantage of the current favorable environment and prospects for cooperation to further strengthen their collaboration in education and trade, enhance efforts in talent cultivation, and jointly explore broader development opportunities.

Later that day, the UCSM delegation met with representatives from GDUFS’s Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture and School of Economics and Trade to further discuss international Chinese education, joint program development, innovative class projects, collaborative research, and faculty and student exchange initiatives.
