On October 15, Valerio De Parolis, the Consul General of Italy in Guangzhou, and his delegation visited Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS). President Yan Xiangbin received the guests at the VIP Hall of the Administrative Building at the North Campus. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation and exchange between GDUFS and Italian universities and institutions, aiming to promote collaboration in the fields of language, culture, and research.
Highlights from the Meeting
President Yan provided a detailed introduction to GDUFS’s achievements in internationalization and the characteristics and accomplishments of our Italian language program. He noted that after more than twenty years of development, our Italian language program has become a national and provincial-level first-class undergraduate program, and is the first specialized program in a non-major European language in Guangdong Province. The university has been dedicated to promoting internationalization and enhancing students’ global outlook and cross-cultural communication skills. He expressed hope that the upcoming Italian Language and Cultural Week would serve as an opportunity to deepen cooperation with Italian universities and institutions, jointly cultivating higher-quality international talent and promoting mutual learning between Chinese and Italian people.
Consul General De Parolis recognized GDUFS’s contributions to promoting cultural exchanges between China and Italy and expressed his support for cooperation and exchanges between our university and Italian institutions, aiming to enhance collaboration in talent cultivation, scientific research, and other areas.
