Delegation of the International Future of Education Association in Malaysia Visits GDUFS

On the morning of April 18th, Ma Zhili, the Honorary President of the International Future of Education Association (IFEA) in Malaysia, led a delegation to visit GDUFS. They were accompanied by representatives from the Guangzhou Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the Guangzhou Friendship Association of New Overseas Chinese, and the Baiyun District Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. Vice President Jiao Fangtai warmly welcomed the delegation at the VIP Lounge of the Administration Building on the Baiyun Mountain Campus. The two sides exchanged views on cultural exchanges and talent cultivation, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

Meeting Scene

Vice President Jiao Fangtai warmly welcomed the delegation and provided a detailed introduction to the history of GDUFS, the achievements in international exchanges and cooperation, and the development of the Malay language program. He emphasized that GDUFS is a key university in Guangdong Province with a distinct international character. The university has conducted multiple collaborations with Malaysian universities and institutions in talent cultivation and academic exchanges. GDUFS excels in foreign language and literature teaching and research, with the Malay language program being one of the Ministry of Education’s undergraduate talent cultivation bases for non-common languages, ranking among the top nationwide. He expressed the university’s high regard for cooperation with Malaysian higher education institutions and eagerly anticipated opening new chapters of cooperation to deepen exchanges in culture and education, jointly cultivate more high-quality talents, and build a stronger bridge for friendship and communication between China and Malaysia.

MOU Signing Ceremony

Mr. Ma Zhili expressed heartfelt gratitude for the warm reception at GDUFS and highly praised the quality of education and achievements in Malay language talent cultivation at our university. He noted that the advancement of the Belt and Road Initiative has greatly enhanced the willingness of cooperation between universities in both countries, and this visit is based on the initiative. He expressed anticipation for future cooperation with GDUFS and hoped to strengthen exchanges with teachers and students from GDUFS’s Malay language department to contribute to the international exchanges and cultural mutual learning between Malaysia and China.
