On September 14, Jiraporn Sudanich, Consul General of the Royal Thai Consulate General in Guangzhou, and her entourage visited Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS). Jiao Fangtai, Vice President of GDUFS, met with the guests in the VIP Hall of the Administration Building of Baiyunshan Campus. The two sides exchanged views on subject construction, talent training, cultural exchanges, and other matters.

Jiao Fangtai welcomed the visit of Jiraporn Sudanich and her entourage and introduced the history and the operational characteristics of GDUFS as well as the construction and development of GDUFS’s Thai major. He pointed out that the Thai major of GDUFS is one of the first batches of national first-class undergraduate major construction sites and has made remarkable achievements in talent training. GDUFS attaches great importance to cooperation with Thai universities, and has established friendly cooperative relations with famous Thai universities such as Bangkok University, Chiang Mai University, Siam University, and Chulalongkorn University, carrying out all-round exchanges and cooperation. We are keen to continue to maintain close exchanges with the Royal Thai Consulate General in Guangzhou, and promote cooperation between Chinese and Thai universities in teacher and student exchanges, scientific research, and the construction of online MOOC platforms to create new achievements and seek new development together.
Jiraporn Sudanich expressed her gratitude for the welcome and praised the achievements in the construction of a Thai language major in GDUFS. She pointed out that the Consulate General attached great importance to this visit and hoped that through the establishment of the scholarship, students from GUUFS would be encouraged to study hard and become envoys of friendly exchanges between Thailand and China. She expressed her belief that the cooperation prospects between Thailand and China will be brighter, and the exchange activities between the people of the two countries will also be more colorful.
