International Students Participated in the 12th World Culture Festival

North Campus, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies,December 13th 2020: The opening ceremony of the 12th World Culture Festival was held in Room 107 of the No.7 Teaching Building on north campus. Shi Youqi made a speech online for the ceremony. Vice-president Jiao Fangtai; the heads of relevant departments alumni representatives; staff members of the Institute for International Education; as well as international students representatives attended the ceremony.

Shi pointed out that the World Culture Festival has long been a tradition at GDUFS, and this year, it especially adds extra glamour to the 55thanniversary. Shi complemented the deeds of international students when COVID-19 first broke out, such as sending masks and doing voluntary work in their communities. On behalf of GDUFS, Shi extends great concern and blessing to international students around the world and looked forward to a reunion as soon as the COVID-19 pandemic is eliminated.

Jiao Announcing the Opening of the Festival

Jiao announced the opening of the Festival. Selected videos from former Festivals and a VLOG trailer of this year’s ceremony provided the audience with a visual-audio feast. The ceremony was hosted by Cai Hong, leader of the Institute for International Education. International students and alumni around the globe expressed their love to 55-year-old GDUFS through their heart-warming video clips.

People attended the Festival either online or in person. Online activities included a VLOG of the world cultural journey and the World Culture Gala.
