Delegation from the Consulate General of Italy in Guangzhou Visits GDUFS

North Campus, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, October23th, 2020Lucia Pasqualini, the Consul General of Italy in Guangzhou, led a delegation to visit GDUFS on the morning of October 20th, 2020. JIAO Fangtai,Vice President of GDUFS, greeted the guests in the VIP Hall of the Administration Building on north campus.

Jiao Fangtai conveyed his warm welcome to the delegation. He said that GDUFS, which offers the most foreign languages in South China, has been dedicated to developing talents for years. Its Italian faculty, as the dominant specialty of GDUFS, has made great progress.The successive consuls and members of the Consulate General of Italy in Guangzhou strongly support the construction and development of the Italian faculty of GDUFS, and have helped us by sending foreign language teachers, facilitating cultural exchange, holding internship programs, and so on. Italian Week has launched many times at GDUFS. It is widely popular among teachers and students and has become a brand of foreign cultural activities. He pointed out that GDUFS greatly cherishes its years of a cooperative relationship with Italian universities and the Consulate General of Italy in Guangzhou. He also expected both sides to continue deepening their cooperation and forge ahead.

Lucia Pasqualini expressed her gratitude to the warm reception of GDUFS and highly affirmed the construction and promotion and the booming development of the Italian faculty of GDUFS. Italian Week, which is the brand activity of the Consulate General of Italy in Guangzhou, aims to promote cultural exchange between China and Italy. She appreciated all efforts GDUFS has made in organizing Italian Week over the years, and wished Italian faculty could make greater progress in the future, continue to develop its feature of “Foreign language+Major” and cultivate more international comprehensive talents in the field of foreign language.
