Four Thai principals visited GDUFS

Sep 2nd --- The principals of four well-known Thai schools: St. Joseph Convent School, Assumption Convent School, Wattana Wittaya Academy and St. Cruz School paid their visits to GDUFS on September 2nd. They were warmly welcomed by Mr. Fang Fanquan, Vice President of GDUFS, accompanied with Mr. Li Hemin, CPC Secretary of Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture, Mr. Liang Xuehong, dean of the Institute of Education for International Students, and Mr. Wu Junfeng, deputy director of the International Office.

Mr. Fang Fanquan began by giving a brief introduction of GDUFS, the development of Thai major in GDUFS, and the current exchange and cooperation programs with Thai schools. He said that GDUFS has always attached great importance to the discipline construction of Thai language. He then recalled that Princess Sirindhorn has visited GDUFS twice respectively in 1997 and 2006, during which she spoke highly of the quality of our curricula. The Princess herself has later become an emeritus professor of GDUFS. Mr. Fang also emphasized that among all the 1725 international students enrolled, Thai students have taken up 241 of them. GDUFS look forward to attracting more Thai students and enhancing communication and cooperation with Thai schools. 

 

 

Distinguished Guests and GDUFS Professors

 

In 2012, the Institute for International Education of GDUFS has co-hosted the Sixth Sino-Thai Friendship Cup Chinese Contest with Bangkok University and the Sino-Thai Friendship Institute of Culture. GDUFS was highly supportive to the contest, offered scholarships to outstanding contestants, and encouraged them to study in GDUFS. Ms. Muda, Dean of the St. Joseph Convent School expressed her appreciation on behalf of her students, and looked forward to strengthening cooperation with GDUFS. A forum on the details of bilateral cooperation  was later held .

 

 

During the lesson

 

In the afternoon, delegates from Thai visited the Primary school affiliated to GDUFS withMr. Liang and Mr. Xie Hua, the president of the Sino-Thai Friendship Institute of Culture. They took part in the students' lessons to closely observe the teaching style.
