The 2015 UCLan and GDUFS Awards Ceremony

On June 25th, the Award Ceremony of the international program, run jointly by GDUFS and University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) was held in the auditorium of the Sixth Teaching building at the north campus. Vice President of UCLan Robin Pollard, Dean of Business School of UCLan, Dharma Kowuri, and the Vice President of GDUFS FANG Fanquan, were presented, accompanied by 146 graduates from the international class of 2015, along with parents representatives and delegations of two universities.

The solemn arrival of the ceremonial mace marked the beginning of the ceremony during which Robin Pollard showed his approval of the graduates’ learning ability as well as his wish that they shall cultivate themselves as qualified global citizens who will never cease in the pursuit of knowledge while in the UK.

Vice President FANG expressed his sincere welcome to the audiences present and thanked all the teachers and professors involved. He pointed out that GDUFS had been working on internationalization by establishing partnership with, so far, 274 renowned overseas schools. Among them, the cooperation with UCLan, whose achievement in teaching won applause from FANG, is the best example.

Dean Kowuri took the opportunity to congratulate graduates and to express appreciation to all for the endeavors that had been made in this cooperative program.

 

Then the 146 graduates were awarded the graduation certificates while 6 academic over-achievers were granted scholarship authorized by UCLan.

The representative of the graduate, LIN Guoheng initiated his speech with his heartfelt thanks to everyone supporting him. He then recalled the passing years in GDUFS and depicted the coming overseas studying in UK. “To strive, to seek, to find and not to yield” was his inspiring line that will hopefully help his fellow students in the future

When the representative of the scholarship winners, a student who majored in International Journalism, CHEN Yingyin addressed the audience from the podium, she seemed to hold an optimistic views towards future challenges. “I will spare no effort to be the hero of my school, my teacher, parents and more importantly, the hero of myself”

After this ceremony that terminated these 146 graduates’ life in GDUFS, they will be set off for UCLan in UK and start the new academic term.
