On September 14th, Chua Teng Hoe, the newly-appointed Consul General of Singapore in Guangzhou, paid his first visit to GDUFS. After visiting Guangdong Research Institute for International Studies, Chua was cordially received by Secretary SUI Guangjun, along with officials from GIIS and the International Exchange Department.

Secretary SUI expressed a warm welcome to the Consul General. He introduced, to confront the increasingly frequent economic and cultural exchanges boosted by the connection of the Maritime Silk Road, by stating that GDUFS has been committed to enhancing research in international strategic studies, as well as cultivating internationalized talents. Secretary SUI sincerely appreciated the support from the Singapore Consulate and conveyed his hope of promoting academic exchanges between the two countries.
Then leaders of both sides had a close talk in terms of the further mutual academic communication. In view of the complex and volatile international situation, both General Chua and Secretary SUI attached great importance to Think Tank Construction. According to Chua, Singapore pays close attention to strategic arrangement of neighboring countries. Hence, he came to learn about the research topic of GIIS and was looking forward to consolidating the academic cooperation bond between Singapore and China.
At the end of the meeting, SUI and Chua exchanged precious gifts, which symbolized the extension of friendly relations of cooperation between Singapore and China.
