Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran visited GDUFS

On the morning of October 26th, Mr. Alireza Salarian, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Commercial Consul Mr. Ali Masaeli, paid a visit to GDUFS. President ZHONG Weihe received the guests and extended a warm welcome.

President ZHONG sincerely appreciated the consistent support from Mr. Salarian, which has absolutely been a strong driving force of the establishment of the Persian major at GDUFS. He expressed that although it is extremely complicated to set up a new major, he is confident that, with his efforts, the Persian major will be successfully established by 2017. Moreover, President ZHONG also introduced the encouraging progress of the Iran Center at GDUFS, which will allow more and more students to know about Iran and Iranian culture.

Mr. Salarian expressed that China, especially GDUFS, has always been committed to promoting communication and cooperation with Iran. Particularly, a Chinese major has been established at the University Of Isfahan, Iran, and teachers from GDUFS have taught there. Besides, not only did Mr. Salarian convey his hope of attending the opening ceremony of the Persian major in 2017, but he also advised President ZHONG to go to Iran for closer talks.

In the end, they exchanged precious gifts, which symbolised the extension of friendly relations between Iran and GDUFS.
