Delegation Led by Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Adelaide University Visits GDUFS

On September 6, Jessica Gallagher, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Australia’s Adelaide University (AU), and Jodie Conduit, Pro Vice-Chancellor of AU, led a delegation to visit Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS). Vice President Yang Li met with the delegation. The two sides held in-depth discussions on key areas of collaboration, including strengthening the existing partnership between the two universities, broadening academic cooperation, advancing joint education programs, and promoting faculty and student exchanges.

Vice President Yang extended a warm welcome to the delegation and reviewed the strong partnership established between the two universities as well as the positive outcomes achieved in areas including joint education programs and academic exchanges. He noted that the two sides have highly complementary disciplinary strengths, which provide a solid foundation for further cooperation. He also expressed the hope that the two universities would take this meeting as an opportunity to consolidate existing collaboration, broaden the scope of cooperation, and identify further opportunities for cooperation in areas such as joint education programs, academic seminars, and faculty and student exchanges, thereby enhancing the quality and effectiveness of practical cooperation between the two universities.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor Gallagher spoke highly of the long-standing cooperation between the two universities. She provided an overview of developments in the relevant faculties at AU and placed great emphasis on the partnership with GDUFS. Noting that the two universities are closely aligned in the relevant academic fields, she expressed the hope that they would continue to strengthen communication, steadily advance the implementation of cooperative initiatives, and broaden the areas of cooperation, jointly enhancing their capacities in providing internationalized education.

Representatives from the Academic Programs Division, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the Center for Teaching Quality Management and Assessment, and the School of English for International Business were also present at the meeting.
