Delegation from Rennes School of Business Visits GDUFS

On the morning of March 30, a delegation led by Professor Adilson Borges, Dean and Director General of Rennes School of Business, visited Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS). Yan Xiangbin, President of GDUFS, met with the guests in the VIP Hall of the Administration Building of the Baiyun Mountain Campus. The two sides held discussions on deepening cooperation and expanding fields of joint training, among other topics.

Highlight from the Meeting

President Yan introduced the university’s characteristics and its achievements in internationalization. He noted that GDUFS serves as a significant base in South China for international talent cultivation, studies of foreign language and literature, global governance, foreign-related rule of law, and international communication of Chinese culture, thereby establishing an interdisciplinary and synergistic academic framework. Among its disciplines, Finance ranks in the 151-200 band of the ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS). He reviewed the achievements of cooperation with Rennes School of Business, highlighting the jointly established Fast-track Integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Innovation Class Program as a model of bilateral collaboration. He expressed the hope of further expanding the scope of cooperation on the existing basis. He invited distinguished faculty from Rennes School of Business to teach in GDUFS’s SPARK high-level summer study program, and proposed introducing the courses Global Competence and Leadership into the joint training programs, to cultivate top-tier talent with global vision and leadership skills, thereby contributing to Sino-French friendship, economic and trade exchanges, and cultural interaction.

Borges expressed his appreciation for the warm reception. He stated that Rennes School of Business places great importance on its strategic partnership with GDUFS. Over the past decade, solid collaboration has been established through programs such as the Innovation Class Program. The excellent quality of GDUFS students and the strong mutual trust between universities have been key to the partnership’s success. He noted that Rennes School of Business is willing to expand cooperation, particularly in joint master’s and doctoral degree programs, faculty exchanges, and joint research. These efforts aim to further enhance both universities’ academic influence and social service functions. He looks forward to deepening the strategic partnership and implementing more projects to cultivate high-quality talents for the development of friendly relations between China and France.
