North Campus, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, September 29th 2019: In the grand Yunshan Hall at GDUFS, a high-profile art gala in celebration of the 70th founding anniversary of the PRC, was held successfully. NING Xizhou, the Vice Leader of the "staying true to our founding mission" educating events of Guangdong Provincial Committee and the Vice President of Southern Medical University; SUI Guangjun, the Chairman of the University Board; WANG Tinghui; and JIAO Fangtai, Vice President of GDUFS, together with representatives from all faculties and departments joined the event.
The Hymn for Motherland
The audience was greeted by the Hymn of the Motherland, a combination of music, poems and art presented by the students from the school orchestra and the School of Journalism and Communication. Next followed by LUO Kaiyuan, a GDUFS alumni, and WANG Xinruo, the counsellor of Faculty of Asian Language and Culture, singing a song called Sweet Tunes and The Aroma of Flowers Are in the Air. The College of Art brought their dance A Chinese Ink Painting of Guangdong to the stage, presenting the unique charm embedded in traditional Cantonese culture.

Music was the most direct way to show people’s love of the country. The retired clerks of GDUFS gathered to express their respect for the nation by performing choruses named Today Is Your Birthday and Me and My Motherland. XIAN Tao and CAI Jingwen, teachers from College of Arts, gave a duet of The Road of New China. All performers amazed the audiences with their enchanting dancing, spectacular stage effects and magnificent vocals, gaining thunderous praise and applause from time to time.

Next were brilliant shows given by the student drama team of GDUFS, Vows; the Art College of GDUFS followed with The Nation is Calling. Each performance delivered the students’ resolution of becoming the participants and constructors to develop a prosperous and bright future. FENG Yiqian, DAI Guiyu, ZHOU Peng, CHI Xiaoni, LIU Qianlin and WANG Mingzhe shared their experience and unshakable faiths as representatives of Chinese teacher, student and volunteer groups in the show named Talk to Our Dear Country.
