North Campus, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, March 28 2019: Carlos Giralt, Consul general of Mexico in Guangzhou, and his team visited GDUFS. SUI Guangjun, Chairman of the University Board, met the guest at the VIP Hall in the Administration Building. The two sides exchanged opinions on further cooperation.
Harmonious talk held between both sides
SUI Guangjun made a brief introduction of the history, scale and situation of international cooperation at GDUFS. He also indicated that GDUFS is a university with distinctive international feature and has set up cooperative relations with more than 400 universities, which includes 2 universities in Mexico. Additionally, he introduced the Spanish professional situation, the Guangdong Research Institute for International Studies, and other research institutes. He stated that both sides stepped into a new stage of cooperation during this visit. SUI also expressed his hope that GDUFS can increase the cooperation with Mexican universities on the basis of existing ones, strengthen communication between teachers and students, and deepen cooperation with Spanish universities in the field of economic management law.

Carlos Giralt expressed his sincere thanks to GDUFS. He indicated that China and Mexico are both ancient civilizations with distinct features and long histories of culture, although the two counties are far apart. Mexico attaches great importance to education and it’s the perfect time for both sides to boost their efforts towards developing cooperation. He hoped that more universities and institutes in Mexico can build partnership with GDUFS. And, as General Consulate of Mexico in Guangzhou, he is willing to offer help and support for both sides.
Relevant leaders of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Faculty of European Languages and Cultures, and Institute for International Education also attended the meeting.
