North Campus, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, July 24th 2018: Jason Robertson, the new Australian Consul General in Guangzhou, and his team visited GDUFS on July 24th. SHI Youqi, President of GDUFS, met the guests in the Reception Hall in the Administration Building. The two sides held discussions on the cooperation between GDUFS and the universities in Australia.

SHI briefly introduced GDUFS and the cooperation the two sides have achieved so far. He pointed out that the cooperation has enjoyed a long history while bearing fruitful results – by now 10 universities in Australia and institutions have built cooperative ties with GDUFS, including the University of Queensland; the Queensland University of Technology; the University of Wollongong; the Sydney University of Technology, and Deakin University. The cooperation is mainly based on short-term summer projects; exchange programs; one-way exchange programs; joint-degree programs, and bachelor-master degree programs. He expressed his hope that both sides could elevate the partnership to a new level, expand cooperative areas and establish a firm platform to lay the foundation for more mutual cooperative research.
LU Zhicheng stated that so far there has been over 300 cooperative projects and 1,400 agreements between the two parties. He also stressed that based on current cooperation, the two sides should enhance mutual communication and continually promote the international resource sharing in educational fields.
CAI Hong, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, was present at the meeting.
