Spanish Consul General held cooperation talks with GDUFS

On October 25th, GAO Liangdong (Carlos Tórtola Sebastián), the Consul Commercial of Spain in Guangzhou, paid a visit to GDUFS with the Education Delegations from four Spanish universities, discussing developing more cooperation projects with GDUFS.

 

The talks between Spain and China

 

Last year, the Spanish Education Delegations visited GDUFS. The universities, which attended it at that time, expressed that they were impressed by the level of education and the international vision of GDUFS. They hoped that there would be more cooperative opportunities.

 

JIAO Fangtai, Vice President of GDUFS, received the guests in the VIP Hall in the Administration Building on the North Campus. He extended a warm welcome to the Spanish Education Delegations, and introduced the general situation and the internationalized education of GDUFS to the guests. GDUFS has formed partnerships with over three hundred universities, among which there are over 10 Spanish universities. From the perspective of times, Spanish has played an important part in both education and business. He hoped that, via the talks, GUDFS could form partnerships with more Spanish universities to give the students at GDUFS more chances of overseas exchange. In the meantime, he stated that the educational interflow is two-way. He hoped that in the talk they can start and optimize more projects to attract more foreign students to study at GDUFS.

 

GAO Liangdong indicated that, with the development of China’s economy, there would be more cooperative opportunities between Spain and China, and the cooperation in education was essential. He stated most of the Spanish Universities currently received Chinese students. He hoped through the talks they could create more ways to receive more excellent foreign students. He expressed that the Spanish Universities would offer more courses in history, culture and physical education to enrich foreign students’ study life. Besides, they provided various options for foreign students’ vocational development.

 

After the meeting, all those involved talked about the details of the cooperation projects in the 3rd VIP Hall. LIANG Xuehong, Dean of the Institute for International Education; WU Junfeng, Deputy Division Chief of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and ZHANG Zhizhi, Director of the Department of Spanish, attended the activity.
