Delegation of African young leaders visited GDUFS

In order to promote exchanges among young leaders in Guangdong and Africa, meanwhile to strengthen colleges and universities cooperation between the two places, 16 young leaders from African countries – including Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Zambia and South Africa – paid a visit to GDUFS on July 3rd. JIAO Fangtai, Vice President of GDUFS, received the distinguished guests in the VIP Hall of the Administration Building on the North Campus. LU Tiejun, Dean of Economic Cooperation, China’s International Youth Exchange Center; LIU Shuang, Second-class Secretary of the International Department, Central Committee of CPC and CAI Hong, Director of the Institute for International Cooperation and Exchange of GDUFS, were also presented at the event.

 

JIAO Fangtai received the guests 

 

Vice President JIAO Fangtai expressed a warm welcome to the visitors and gave a brief introduction to GDUFS’s internationalized education. He pointed out that GDUFS has a long-term partnership with universities in Africa. A great number of students benefited from the overseas project and gained opportunities for advancement. He hoped that both sides could provide more opportunities for students to exchange and cooperate in the future.

 

Enoch, Secretary of Women’s Affairs at Uganda’s National Resistance Movement, said that she wishes to have a deeper understanding with each other to create more opportunities for cooperation during the exchange.

After the meeting, the delegation and GDUFS’s students attended a lecture on cultural exchanges between Chinese and African young people, and fully discussed about how young people can make a difference in the background of the Belt and Road Initiative.
