The 2016 Blue Book of Latin America

On the morning of May 12th 2017, the 2016 Blue Book of Latin America was unveiled in the International Meeting Hall of the Administration Building on the North campus of GDUFS. 

Participants included Sr. David Guillermo Gamarra Silva, Consul General of Peru in Guangzhou; Sr. Wilson Adélio Domingues, Cultural Consul of Brazil in Guangzhou; Sra. Karla Ruth Orozco Toledano, Cultural Consul of Mexico in Guangzhou; SUI Guangjun, Secretary of the CPC Committee for GDUFS; JIAO Fangtai, Vice President of GDUFS; CHEN Yanhui, Director of the Academic Research Division; CAI Hong, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange; ZHU Wenzhong, Dean of the School of Business; ZHI Xiucong, Secretary of the CPC Committee for School of Business, and YANG Ke, Dean of Faculty of European Languages and Cultures. The conference was hosted by CHEN Yanhui.

 

SUI Guangjun delivered a speech

 

SUI Guangjun expressed his sincere appreciation for the arrival of all the guests and congratulated on the success of the devoted authors. He pointed out that the publication of the blue book meets the needs of the times, enriches and widens our research on the field of Latin America, which is of high academic value and practical significance. At the same time, the blue book signifies that GDUFS has made solid progress in the field, playing the leading role in China.

 

Sr. David Guillermo Gamarra Silva delivered a speech

 

Sr. David Guillermo Gamarra Silva, the Consul General of Peru in Guangzhou, highlighted that recent years have witnessed an increasingly close connection between of China and Peru in economy and politics, and the establishment of a number of Confucius Institutes has also helped deepen the cultural communication between the two countries. So far, a number of Peruvian universities have established a cooperative relationship with GDUFS. It is a hopeful prospect that there will be further collaborate development between the two countries.

ZHU Wenzhong, the Director of the Sino-Latin America Research Innovation Team at GDUFS, gave an overview of the compilation of the book. As the start fruit of our research on the Latin Region and Countries at GDUFS, the book unites the persistence and the hard work of the research team, fully showing the characteristics and advantage of both our first-class subjects on foreign language learning in China, and the research base for foreign economy and exchange and national strategies, as well as the wonderful combination of the two.

 

ZHOU Ning, the representative of the compiling team, expressed her honor to be part of the significant compiling work. She thinks it rewarding to help compile the book, during which she has acquired an overall and multi-perspective knowledge about the politics, economy and culture of Latin America. Now the team is setting about the compilation of The 2017 Blue Book of Latin America.

 

The leaders of GDUFS and the guests met and talk pleasantly

 

Before the conference, the leaders of GDUFS welcomed the honorable guests in the VIP Hall. SUI Guangjun then spoke high of the cultural cooperation between Latin American consuls and universities and GDUFS. He pointed out that our future research on Latin American countries needs further support from all the consuls. In his speech he also wished the blue book a brighter future with the joint effort of both parties. After that Sr. Wilson Adélio Domingues showed gratitude for the warm welcome paid by all the leaders, and meanwhile highly appreciated the internationalization characteristics of GDUFS. He told us joyfully that he had delivered speeches and joined in our World Cultural Festival many times. Just as Sir Wilson put it, the friendly relationship between China and Latin American countries has gone so far as to communicate culturally, instead of merely being economic and trading communication.
