This year, GDUFS opened an online system to help graduate students with registration for the first time, which enabled the registration processes to be as smooth and convenient as undergraduate students’.

XIE Ying, a graduate student majoring in the Teaching of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, said she was still getting used to the humid and hot climate in Guangzhou, but the uncomfortable change was soon forgotten after she saw and experienced the campus decorated with various types of plants and the great atmosphere for language learning. “I have come to GDUFS to extend my horizons and I want to improve my professional skills.” she said. She also stated that the professors and teachers here are very caring about their students when she was asked about her most unforgettable experience.

Two other graduate students also unanimously expressed that they were deeply impressed by the beautiful environment and the great atmosphere for studying foreign languages, as well as the caring professors and teachers here in GDUFS. HUANG Meilian, a graduate student majoring in French who also received an undergraduate education in GDUFS, told us that her dream is to become a French teacher. “GDUFS will be my first choice as my workplace.” she said. GDUFS was authorized to grant master’s degree in 1981 and doctor’s degree in 1986, making it one of the earliest universities to gain such authority after China re-established its graduate education system. It is well known for its studies and education on languages, thus, many students choose GDUFS as the place for their further education after they graduate from university, or even after they have worked for many years.
