The Delegation of GDUFS Visited Universities in Japan and South Korea to Enhance Interschool Cooperation

 From November 26^th to December 3^rd, the delegation of GDUFS, led by Vice President CHEN Linhan, paid a visit to Japan and South Korea, aimed at promoting inter-university cooperation and exchange. The delegation attended the Board Meeting of the Confucius Institute in Sapporo University, and then visited Sapporo University in Japan, Meiji University, Kyushu Institute of Foreign Languages, Kyushu University, South Korea Busan University of Foreign Studies and Hanyang University. Dean of the Faculty of Asian Languages of Cultures, CHEN Duoyou; Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, WU Junfeng; Deputy Dean of International College, LIU Tianmiao as well as the Head of the Department of Korean, REN Jinmei accompanied the visit.

On November 27^th, the delegation, led by CHEN Linhan, called on the Director of the Sapporo University, Hiroyuki Ota, and the President, Sanhara Masahito.  After introducing the development of the international cooperation and exchange of GDUFS, the two parties discussed the feasibility of the international training programs, and expressed the wish to improve the cooperation and communication in different fields such as scientific research. Afterwards, the delegation attended the Board Meeting of the Confucius Institute in Sapporo University. The two parties reviewed the achievement of the Confucius Institute this year, deliberated and passed several issues including the list of new members of the board and the term extension of directors and volunteer teachers. Moreover, the two parties exchanged ideas on how to use the fund efficiently in the headquarters of the Confucius Institute and strengthen the construction of characteristic programs. CHEN Linhan also visited 19 international students of GDUFS at the Sapporo University after the meeting.

On November 30^th, the delegation visited Meiji University and talked with Takeda Qiao, Dean of Studies and Chairman of International Exchange Committee, about the establishment of international cooperation and exchange between the two universities. They decided to begin the exchange programs from next year.

On December 1^st, the delegation paid a visit to Kyushu Institute of Foreign Languages and met with the Dean, Umakoshi Yukio and the President, Fujiwara Se. The university has become a practical overseas base for GDUFS since 2012. At present, 12 students from GDUFS are preparing for the post-graduate entrance examination here, two of which have already been admitted by the leading universities such Kyushu University. Hereafter, the delegation visited Kyushu University and its new campus.

On December 2^nd, the delegation visited Busan University of Foreign Studies and was warmly welcomed by the President ZHENG Hailin, who expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality of GDUFS during the Asian University Presidents Forum. He hoped the cooperative relationship could be strengthened in every aspect. The two parties further discussed the feasibility of the cooperation of the international training programs. CHEN Linhan paid a special visit to the international students of GDUFS at the university.

On December 3^rd, the delegation visited Hanyang University and met with Vice President Whoi-Yul Yura Kim. He appreciated that GDUFS plays special advantage in foreign languages and has taken the internationalized development path. Whoi-Yul Yura Kim transmitted the inter-university cooperation agreement signed by President LI Yongmao. The two universities will start an exchange program from next year.
