Maritime Silk Road Center Holds OBOR Cultural Exchange Activities In Indonesia

On November 16th, the Indonesia Baoying Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition opened in Djakarta. The exhibition was jointly held by Guangdong Guangzhou Artist Association and Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia. About 500 people attended this grand meeting. These were the Tourism Minister and Vice-Minister of Indonesia, XIE Feng;Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia and Diplomats in Indonesia from other 15 countries;Indonesia business elites;community leaders and well-known media organisations. HE Chuantian, Vice-President of GDUFS;LI Qing, General Secretary of Guangdong International Strategic Research Institute, and CAI Jincheng, Professor of East Language College attended the opening ceremony.

Opening of Indonesia Baoying Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition

It wasreported that in May, the Vice-Premier of the State Council paid a visit to Indonesia and jointly launched the China-Indonesia premier-level Cultural Exchange Mechanism, which is the first high-level cultural exchange mechanism that China has established with developing countries and neighboring countries. As a part of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Culture Communication, this painting exhibition plays an important role in strengthening the humanity exchange. XIE Feng said that, to maintain the relationship between China and Indonesia, we should not only make contact between the high-levels of both governments, but also pay attention to humanity exchange and strengthen people-to-people exchange. Exhibition promotes humanity exchange between China and Indonesia.

XIE Feng Talk with HE Chuantian

On the afternoon of 18thNovember, HE Chuantian, LI Qing, CAI Jincheng, HU Lanping and GU Pu met Professor Melda Kamil Ariadno, Director of International Division of Indonesia University, andDoctor Sisilia Setiawati Halimi, Commissioner of the International Cooperation and Communication in Conference Room of Indonesia University. (HU Lanping is Chairman of the Supervisory of Baoying Group. GU Pu is vice-president of the Baoying Group.) Both parties reached consensus on jointly cultivating Chinese and Indonesian international talents, promoting Talent and Cultural Exchange and strengthening the cooperation between the two universities.

Giving Presents to Each Other

Melda extended a warm welcome to HE Chuantian and his partners. She said that Indonesia University has the longest history, the largest campus area and the best teachers with 12 colleges and 1 research institution. Graduates of this university have, for several decades,playedan important part in the political circle. She said that Indonesia University was very glad and willing to cultivate international talents with GDUFS.

HE Chuantian thanked Melda’s warm reception and introduced GDUFS to her. He said that GDUFS is one of 19 universities that offers high-end translation talents to the UN. He said that Indonesian language Major is one of the most popular majors. Every year, dozens ofGDUFS students go to Indonesia on exchange programs.

GU Pu said that Baoying Group expects to strengthen the cooperation with GDUFS on school enterprise and welcome GDUFS and Indonesia University to establish Students’ Practice Base in both Chinese and Indonesian Baoying Group,and jointly cultivate talents with international vision.
