Five Teachers in GDUFS Awarded the Excellent Teacher and Educator of Guangdong

On September 8th, a convention was held by the Guangdong Provincial Committee of CPC and the Government of Guangdong Province in Zhudao Hotel to celebrate the Teachers' Day and to present awards to the excellent teachers and educators of Guangdong. The teachers in GDUFS, namely WEN Binli, KE Xiaohua, ZHU Zuixin and DONG Yanping were conferred with the title of  "the Excellent Teacher of Guangdong"  and ZHU Hong "the Excellent Educator of Guangdong".

On behalf of the Provincial Committee of the CPC and the Government of Guangdong Province, ZHU Xiaodan congratulated and paid tribute to the prizewinners and meanwhile extended greetings to all the teaching staff. ZHU noted that deep understanding and full implementation of the requirements put forward by President XI Jinping are expected of teachers. They should take them as the guide to action and strive to be the honorable teachers who spare no efforts to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

ZHU set forth five detailed standards of being an outstanding teacher. First, serve as a role model and actively popularize the core socialist values. Second, be assiduous and dedicated to the cause of education. Third, be generous and kind, helping students to grow as a person. Fourth, be a lifelong learner and a model of meticulous scholarship. Fifth, be creative, support and promote educational reforms. He noted, as a strategic task, the construction of the high-quality and well-trained teaching staff should be strengthened by the government. In the hope of creating a brand-new prospect for the modernization of education, greater efforts should also be made by teachers, educators and the departments concerned to promote the sustainable and healthy development of education.
