AMBA is the international impartial authority on postgraduate business education, established in 1967 by a small group of business graduates with the aim to raise the profile of business education and the MBA qualification in UK and Europe. Its accreditation service is the global standard for all MBA, DBA and MBM programmes. It currently accredits only 2% of high quality business schools, totaling 225, including Oxford and Cambridge University business schools, in over 70 countries.
The School of Business launched AMBA accreditation in March 2012 and obtained the candidacy in June 2014. Ever since the beginning of the AMBA journey, the University leadership attached great importance to the accreditation and established the Leading Group for AMBA Accreditation with Chairman SUI Guangjun as the Advisor and President ZHONG Weihe as the Head. Vice President HE Chuantian, who is also Dean of the School, is personally in charge of the accreditation and together with the management team of the School has adopted various measures to improve the strategy and operation of both the MBA programme and the School. By early this year, with the guidance of AMBA accreditation, the University completed the restructuring of the business discipline, forming of new school leadership, revision of the MBA curriculum, improvement of the library resources and lab facility, etc..
On March 26 and 27, 2015, the School received the assessment visit by four AMBA assessors. During the visit, the assessors met and talked with leadership of both the University and the School, visited teaching facilities, and discussed with employers, students, alumni and faculty.
