Nina Jalal is 21, from the city of Tehran, capital of Iran. She came to China for the first time at the end of 2011, first living in Nanjing and studying at the Aeronautic and Astronautic University. After serious consideration, Nina decided she didn’t want to continue studies in that major and decided to change her major.  Thinking of that which does interest her, after an in-depth search on the Internet, she found Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and the All-English International Business Program and finally moved there in 2013. The reason she choose Guanwai is that it is different from all others in China that she had investigated.

“It feels like home. I like the environment of the campus, and it is very clean and quiet. Also, the people here, both Chinese and foreigners, teachers and students, are warm and nice to each other.”

Besides, shopping centres downtown and the Chimelong Amusement Park are her favourite places in Guangzhou.

Her current major now is International Business/Management and she is currently in her third year. She wanted to change to a top-level business oriented university and decided to study her major because, in to study International Business at a Chinese university would also help me understand the country and, knowing that it is the second most powerful economy in the world and continues to grow in international influence, the study atmosphere would be dynamic.

As a child, Nina began studying gymnastics when she was five years old and worked at it for 7 years, studying, practicing and competing until she was12.  When she was 16 she was certified as a teacher of gymnastics. Back in Iran she also met with a friend who is a breakdance teacher and he talked her into learning breakdance. At Iran, girls aren’t allowed to practice breakdance but she followed her heart and developed her skills.  Practising ‘secretly’ at home, she did four years of intensive practice finally arriving at her real passion till today: dance. She will continue practising and developing her skills, and taking part on events and competitions but as her hobby.

“After I graduate with my current major, I want to move to Hong Kong for a couple years of work experience and afterwards, I would like to move and live in Canada or Germany, as I feel attracted to these two countries”. She would like to mainly focus on the business world, specially to aim to live in the big countries with a current economic potency towards the next century future time. Nina Jalal Fard is a very, very strong willed young woman who knows where she stands, where she wants to head and where she wants to get to, not only for her future, but for her whole life time, and for her every day decisions.
