Huo Haihong's Posthumous Work Published

On the afternoon of April 2nd, GDUFS' Department of English Education held a seminar for College of English-Teaching where they discussed the publication of Huo Haihong's posthumous work, From Instrument Rationality to Cultural Consciousness – Afterthoughts on the Cultural Philosophy in College English Teaching.
This seminar was held at the Administration Building on the South Campus. The following people attended the seminar: Huang Puquan, Tutor for the Ph.d students at South China Normal University; Zhang Xiaoling, Vice-President of Science Press; Chen Linhan, Executive Assistant for the President of GDUFS; Shang Minrui, Deputy Director of the Office of Academic Affairs; Dong Jinwei, Dean of the Department of Education; and Lin Shaoxiong, Party Secretary of the Department of Education.
The seminar was facilitated by Dean Dong Jiinwe. Mr. Chen Hanlin fully affirmed the achievements of the Department of English Teaching. He spoke highly of Huo Haihong and his recent achievement, noting his diligence, hard-work and selfless-dedication to work; a great example and someone we can all learn from and imitate.
Deputy Director Shang spoke nostalgically about Mr. Huo, recalling his memory of Mr. Hou's morality and dedication to work. Professor Huang also shared in appreciating Mr. Huo's morality and achievements, saying that he will never forget Mr. Huo, one of his best students as well as one of his best friends.
Zeng Dan, Zhang Junyu, and Li Chunlin, representatives for the teachers of the Department of Education, expressed their thoughts on Mr. Huo's posthumous work, saying that the book is the beacon of light for their teaching career and will lead the teachers in this field to make further progress.
Other participants also made speeches respectively, sharing fond memories of Mr. Huo and praising his book.
About 40 other people also attended the seminar, which included: the heads staff and faculty of the College of English-Teaching from Sun-Yat-Sen University, Guangzhou Medical University and Zhanjiang Normal University. There were also representatives of Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press as well as English-Teaching Press. In addition, all the members from the team of the Department of Education and other friends and family members of Mr. Hou were there to share in this special event.
