Gu Yeli Visited Three Universities in Latin America to Promote Interscholastic Cooperation

Nov. 1st___From October 18th to the 25th, in order to promote interscholastic cooperation, GDUFS Vice President Gu Yeli visited la Universidad de Santo Tomas de Chile(UST), Catholic University of Santa Maria(CUSM) and Benemerita Universidad Autonoma de Puebla(BUAP) on invitation.

 

On October 18th, Vice President Gu Yeli attended the Seventh U6 Forum held by UST.Representatives from six universities from all around the world (including GDUFS) participated in the Forum.They discussed in detail the topic of "Challenges faced by Higher Education".On the same day, all the representatives held a working meeting as well. At the meeting, they made their decision to hold the next U6 Forum in early October 2013 at GDUFS to discuss "The Innovation of Higher Education".

On October 22nd, Vice President Gu Yeli visited CUSM and held a working meeting with the President of the university.Vice President Gu Yeli also presented at the meeting held by the Council of the Confucius Institute and talked over such issues as the investment, infrastructure, construction, and the development of programs at the Confucius Institute with the Dean of the university .

 

On October 25th, Vice President Gu Yeli visited BUAP.He expressed his gratitude to the university for its looking after the exchange students from GDUFS and pointed out that the two universities shared many things in common in the research field of economy, trade, management, and culture. He shared his hope that the two universities will cooperate with each other in other areas of study and establish the Center for Latin American Studies through their joint efforts.
