May 27th-Sui Guangjun, the Party secretary of GDUFS and vice-president Fang Fanquan met with Colin Riordan, the president of the University of Essex and Charley Robinson, director of International Office at north campus GDUFS on May 23.This visit with the purpose of strengthening ties between the two universities, and deepening the cooperation in International College, was successful.

Party secretary Sui Guangjun gave a warm welcome to President Colin Riordan and said, "The University of Essex is a very important cooperative partner of GDUFS and we fell honored for your arrival." As a well-known university in England, University of Essex is famous for some courses, especially the Accountant, Finance and Management. Aiming at developing GDUFS into a high-level university with international features, Sui Guangjun hoped that this visit could further the cooperation between GDUFS and the University of Essex.

President Colin Riordan said that he felt greatly honored to visit GDUFS. He expressed his desire to enhance the communication between the two universities and he hoped that the students of the University of Essex could come to China one day and study at GDUFS. At the same time, Colin Riordan emphasized that the two universities should cooperate in more fields besides Accountant and Finance, such as Research Cooperation. In the end, Colin Riordan was impressed by the favorable environment of the campus, saying, "GDUFS is a famous university in south China. I hope we can keep well symbiosis, learn from each other and promote common development."
