GDUFS Delegation Attends Asian Summer Program and Engages in Academic Exchange in ROK

Recently, the Asian Summer Program (ASP), a sub-project of the Asian University Presidents Forum, opened at Dongseo University in the Republic of Korea (ROK). This three-week international program brings together students from universities across Asia and other regions for lectures, study sessions, exchanges, and cultural experiences. A total of 29 universities and 2 high schools from 18 countries and regions participated in the program, with 21 students representing Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS). GDUFS President Yan Xiangbin delivered a video speech during the opening ceremony on behalf of the Asian University Presidents Forum Secretariat and GDUFS.

In his remarks, President Yan congratulated Dongseo University on the successful launch of the summer program and encouraged participants to take this opportunity to deepen their understanding of Asian cultures, broaden their international perspectives, and strengthen mutual exchanges and cooperation. He expressed his hope that the students would contribute their youthful energy to the prosperity and development of both Asia and the world.

A delegation led by Liang Jie, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Faculty of Asian and African Studies, attended the opening ceremony and participated in the exchange activities. During the event, the delegation held in-depth discussions with Dongseo University President Chang Jekuk, officials from the Office of International Affairs, and other faculty members. Secretary Liang introduced the latest developments at GDUFS and the international talent cultivation programs of the Faculty of Asian and African Studies, exploring key directions and modes for future collaboration. Following the program, the delegation also visited Busan University of Foreign Studies and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
